EveryBuddy Rescue
Dog Rescue, Adoption & Sanctuary in Central Texas
Sanctuary Dogs
Some dogs will never be up for adoption and some are simply in a period of recovery, being evaluated further or being given time to decompress. They include dogs pulled from the local shelter, owner surrenders, finder surrenders and strays.
Ulyssa
2 Year ✽ Husky Mix ✽ Female

Ulyssa just had a litter of puppies and is still nursing. She will need time to recover after raising the puppies and then she will be spayed. She is very friendly, gets along with dogs and humans, loves to play, is quiet and beautiful.
What she needs:
A New Cot for her space:
A Spay appointment
Toys and Treats
Want to volunteer and come and walk Ulyssa?
Luna
2 Year ✽ Mixed Breed ✽ Female

Luna and another of her littermates suffered a serious injury and have been healing with lots of rest. Luna has become a very settled house dog. She likes to flop on her belly instead of coming when called. She is smart and has been a perfect patient.
What she needs:
Chew toys and treats
Medical Care
Play Tunnel
Jake
7 years ✽ Mixed breed ✽ Male

Jake has been with us so long that he is now really a part of our family but plays an important part in our program. Jake is a stoic dog that values order and is quick to make this point with newcomers here. He is also a splitter (a dog that physically moves between other dogs when there is a potential conflict. He is quiet and only makes himself heard if it is important. He recently lost his best friend in the rescue, a standard poodle to whom he was devoted. He still looks for him everyday.
What he needs:
Supplements for mobility as he gets older and Vet care for chronic hotspots
Hannah
4 Years ✽ Heeler Mix ✽ Female

Hannah is small, compact and athletic. She has a hoarse bark because it is believed she was once tightly constrained by the neck. Hannah has a strong prey drive and will chase and attack smaller animals. Because of this, she must be monitored and kept out only with certain other dogs. At this time, we believe Hannah may only be adopted by someone without other pets or children in the home, and, preferably someone experienced with these behaviors. She is loving and affectionate with us.
What she needs:
Hannah would benefit from visits with a trainer or even a person who is experienced with dogs to help her get more comfortable and allow us to better evaluate her potential for adoption.
Lily
7 years ✽ Mixed Breed ✽ Female

Lily was pulled from a local shelter due to her long stay without adoption interest. Something about her tugged at us. It took awhile for us to figure her out because she can be unusually cranky, picky about what dogs she wants to hang out with, and sometimes a bit mopey. We now know that she has some health problems and is mostly deaf. Because she is a difficult dog to manage, we think her best option for now is to remain in sanctuary here.
What she needs:
Ongoing medical checks as she had a mast cell tumor removed and they tend to reappear.
She loves stuffies and toys and marrow bone treats.
Lumos
3 years ✽ Husky ✽ Male

Lumos came to us from his owner who had rescued him as a stray puppy. He developed extreme anxiety and reactivity despite their efforts to train and work with him. They suspected that he had been traumatized in some way. They were heartbroken to lose him but thought he needed a sanctuary placement to heal and evaluate for permanent placement. We agree with their decision. We have learned that Lumos suffers from partial or complete blindness and has some gait issues that are indicative of earlier trauma. He can be extremely reactive and defensive. All the sanctuary dogs are kind to Lumos and he is perfectly willing to play with other dogs and seems content in his placement here.
What he needs:
Lumos could use a new kuranda bed
He loves toys and treats
He will need ongoing vet care as he ages
Christine
9 Mos ✽ Mixed Breed ✽ Female

Christine was born here at EveryBuddy Rescue so has been socialized consistently. She is the smallest in her litter and has spent more time inside with humans than any of her littermates due to an extended recovery from an injury. She is an extremely affectionate and endearing little dog, eager to please and easy to train. She has not started leash training yet due to her injury but she is learning simple commands.
What she needs:
Chew toys and treats
Ongoing medical care
Rocco
9 years ✽ Anatolian ✽ Male

Rocco was surrendered by his family after a death of his primary owner. No other members of the family wished to keep him. It took Rocco almost two years to fully feel comfortable and his loyal heart was broken. He is a tremendously independent dog due to his guardian breed and wants mostly to be outside walking the fence line and keeping his eye out for problems. He is mild mannered but, due to his great strength, there is no convincing him to stand long for grooming or fussing. Thankfully, his coat does not require much maintenance. He is an older dog so we are not going to uproot him again. He will remain here with us for the duration of his life. He does need increasing vet care and could use a new kuranda bed. Please consider sponsoring this gentle giant.
What he needs:
A new XL bed
Ongoing Medical Care
Ranger
10 years ✽ Husky Mix ✽ Male

Ranger is an owner surrender. He has taken the adjustment well but he did grieve for a few months. He likes being outside, likes to sleep outside and loves attention. We have made him sleep inside lately and spend a bit more time out of the heat due to his age. He is also terrified of loud noises. He has many vision issues and a perpetual need to have his eyes kept clean. He is a sweet tolerant dog who loves to be pet and talked to, loves food and likes to be underfoot when you are cooking in case you drop something. Due to his age and declining vision, we are going to keep him here with us for the rest of his life.
What he needs:
Ongoing vet care
